Frequently asked questions!
please note these are in no particular order and will be added to as and when questions arise (or I think of them!)
https://numanigwer.ru/mirniy.html Where are you based?
here Do you come out to our home?
Yes!! I am a https://muliasned.ru/moskva-bibirevo.html mobile photographer, so your session will be held in the comfort of your own home! Perfect for those early days where it is so nice to just relax at home and enjoy having your new baby at home.
What is the best age?
For a newborn session under 2 weeks is best, ideally 5-8 days. However if you have just found my page and your newborn has already passed this age range please still get in touch as I am able to do up to about 6 weeks, it just takes a bit longer and will have more of a mix of sleepy and awake photos rather than mainly sleepy. To find out more about the best age and when to book please click HERE. After the newborn stage we would be looking at a baby session which is suitable for ages 5-9 months.
Do you provide digital copies of the images?
Digital copies are not provided however they are available for purchase. We do recommend digital files are purchased as an add-on or part of one of our collections as we do find our families get much more satisfaction and joy out of purchasing their portraits framed and ready to display on their walls as opposed to a USB which often ends up stuffed away in a drawer and forgotten about. Read this blog for a little insight into my thought and my own experiences with digital files – Digital vs Print. Click HERE to view our full product & collection pricing.
What do we get for our session fee?
The session fee covers the time at the photoshoot, editing time and your viewing & ordering session. Products are extra and start from £49. To view the full products and collection price list click HERE.
Do you provide the props?
We have huge amounts of props, hats & headbands etc for use in your newborn baby portrait session however if you have personal items we would be more than happy to include it! We often have items from professions (fireman helmet for example) or hobbies (guitar, books etc) provided by parents to make a very special image. I LOVE to work with personal items. You can read a bit more information on props HERE
When should we book?
We recommend booking as soon as possible after the 12 week scan to guarantee your space! We are often booked months in advance so the earlier the better. We can occasionally fit in last minute bookings so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
yes we do but we do request the person receiving the voucher wants a photo session with us and is aware of our pricing.
How long will my newborn session take?
It will take around 2 hours but please schedule for 4 hours in case your baby needs more feeding and comforting breaks.
Do you offer bump sessions?
We do! Bump sessions are only offered as a mini session as an add on to our newborn baby portrait sessions. The bump2baby is £199 and is a short bump session ( around 30 mins) with 5 digital files from that included and then a full newborn session (please note, no digitals are included in newborn session). For More info check out our Maternity page.
When is the best time to book a bump session?
Booking for when you are around 32 weeks is usually perfect! At this point we normally see a nice round bump but you aren’t at the point where the heaviness and tiredness has really kicked in. This also leaves plenty of time to view and choose your images and prepare your order for delivery before baby arrives.
Do you do cake smash sessions?
Yes we can certainly do cake smash sessions! For more info click HERE.
I would like my baby photographed throughout their first year, is this possible?
Yes! We love photographing our babies through the first year so we have developed our Baby Steps 1.2.3.. plan. This plan is £99 and covers a newborn session, a session about 6 months when baby is sitting and then another session around babies first birthday when little one has found his/her feet! This is an amazing way to document your babies first year and preserve those special memories.
Can family be involved in the newborn portraits?
Yes of course! We love creating beautiful family images. I do ask though that you let me know prior to the session if you would like family or sibling images so that I can prepare accordingly. Due to the nature of newborn sessions we can only accommodate immediate family in a newborn portrait session.
What if my baby cries the whole time or doesn’t sleep?
Don’t worry at all! Plenty of time is scheduled to provide your baby with lots of cuddles to make sure they are nice and happy. You just need to relax, drink tea and eat biscuits! I will take over most of the care of your little one during the session (apart from breastfeeding obviously!). 99% of babies will eventually settle, even if they take a little bit of time. In the situation your baby doesn’t settle…which is rare! I have found that really the only times this has happened has been when symptoms of colic or reflux are starting to surface and yet to be treated…we will always schedule another session a few days later to try again. We will get you a beautiful selection of images, that is a guarantee!
I need to cancel, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately our session fees are non-refundable but we are happy to reschedule your session to a later date or transfer it to another type of session such as a first birthday session.
